>>What is Manual Therapy Specialists? Manual Therapy Specialists (MTS) is a service designed by the owners of St. Louis Physical Therapy. Manual Therapy Specialists is a specialized service that is offered separate from the normal physical therapy offered at St. Lous Physical Therapy. It is intended to allow patients at STLPT to choose what the focus of their physical therapy sessions will be.
>>As a patient, what are these choices?
When you choose St. Louis Physical Therapy as your PT provider, you have two options for the nature of your care: Use the normal therapy services that are provided at each of the St. Louis Physical Therapy clinics Use the separate specialized services of Manual Therapy Specialists that are offered at each of STLPT's clinics
>>What is manual therapy and why do I need it?
Manual therapy is a very specialized form of physical therapy that incorporates specific soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques to promote tissue healing. The use of manual therapy provides more effective physical therapy treatments than just exercise and modalities alone. Due to the effectiveness of this treatment, all patients at STLPT receive appropriate manual therapy.
>>Why choose Manual Therapy Specialists over the normal therapy STLPT offers?
The Manual Therapy Specialists service provides additional attention to the use of manual therapy. For many chronic and rare issues, the amount of manual therapy applied during normal physical therapy treatments is not enough. However, MTS allots additional time during treatment sessions for manual therapy techniques. This additional use of manual therapy has shown to be quite effective in treating issues that have been unresolved elsewhere or have lingered on for years.
