You’d rather be playing in the snow, not nursing an injury. Follow these tips to help prevent injuries when you shovel snow this winter.
1) Do a quick warm-up – a few minutes on a treadmill or jumping jacks will do the trick.
2) Use an ergonomic shovel comfortable for your body.
3) Push the snow versus lifting and turning.
4) Shovel small amounts at a time – snow can get heavy quickly.
If you do encounter the unfortunate injury, contact St. Louis Physical Therapy to get you back to to playing in the snow as quick as possible!
